Get Ready, Kids Heart Challenge is Coming

Ms. Julie Boerhave will be live and in-person for our 2023 Kids Heart Challenge kickoff on Tuesday, January 24th, at 2:45PM!
The Leola School District is getting ready to kick off the Kids Heart Challenge adventure with the American Heart Association, and we need your help! Over the next few weeks students will be learning about how to take care of their heart, raising awareness and funds for the American Heart Association. Our school's goal is to have 40 students to complete Finn's Mission.

2. Complete Finn’s Mission – this will be your map! Your family will learn the lifesaving skills of Hands-only CPR and the FAST signs of a Stroke. For every $50 of lifesaving donations that students raise, they will earn a Mystery Gift too - It’s a surprise to see what’s inside!
Why we support the American Heart Association: About 90% of people who suffer out-of hospital cardiac arrests don’t survive. CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double, or even triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival.

The Frederick School Board intends to “approve the dissolution of Leola/Frederick Sports Coop (VB and Boys/Girls BB)” today at 6:00PM in the FASD Library.
You are invited to address the Frederick Area School Board during public comment. Please sign in with Mr. Kosters, Superintendent, by 5:45PM. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes.
Additionally, the Leola School District would like to provide transportation for those interested in attending the Frederick Area School Board’s meeting this evening. Transportation to Frederick will leave Leola at 5:00PM. If you are interested, please call our school office at 1-605-439-3142 before 4:00PM today to reserve your spot.

We were just informed that the Frederick School Board will be voting on Monday to dissolve the Leola/Frederick Sports Coop for volleyball & girls and boys basketball starting the 2023-2024 school year. We are not in favor of this proposal and encourage patrons to communicate with Frederick administration or attend Monday's board meeting at the Frederick School. In order to participate in public comment sign in with the superintendent prior to the start of the meeting. Speakers will be taken in order of sign in and are limited to 3 minutes. If you have further questions or concerns, please call Mr. Flemmer or Ms. Myer at the school.
Tonight's double-header basketball games against Wilmot in Frederick have been postponed. A new date has not been set as of yet.
Girls basketball practice will be in Frederick.
Boys basketball practice will be in Leola.
Good Morning Leola Families! Reminder of this morning's Flapjacks with Family and Friends for our K-12 students. Stop in and warm up with some flapjacks with your child. This runs from 7:45-8:15 am with Gingerbread House building for our Pre-K through 5th grade students following. And, as today is our student's last day of 2022, the Leola School staff would like to wish each and every one a safe and happy holiday.
