The Leola School District is excited to continue growing our youth wrestling program, and we are looking for volunteer coaches to join us! This program aims to teach students the basics and fundamentals of wrestling, instilling skills, confidence, and teamwork in a supportive environment.
Program Details:
• Season Dates: December through March
• Focus: Skill development, fundamentals, and positive growth
• Flexible Schedule: We are committed to working with volunteers to create practice schedules that align with their personal and professional obligations.

The Leola/Frederick Titans have advanced to the quarterfinal round in playoff football!
Thursday, October 31st, at 7:00PM, the #8 seed Leola/Frederick Titans play the #1 seed Parkston Trojans for the opportunity to advance to the Semifinal Round.
The Leola and Frederick Area School Districts are sending a fan bus to Parkston. The bus will leave the Leola school parking lot at 3:00PM and pick up Frederick Area riders at 3:30PM. There will be an additional stop at the Starlite truck stop (Marlins restaurant) in Aberdeen (ready to board by 4:00PM), with a brief stop in Wolsey along the way.
The cost will be $5 per rider, to be paid when you board the bus, plus every rider will need an additional $7 (for adults) or $5 (for students) for entry into the game. Students in grades 6-12 may ride without an adult; junior high students must have parent permission.

Child-Find Screening
The Leola School District will conduct its fall Child-Find Screening on:
Friday, October 25th, 2024 in the Leola School Gymnasium.
All children who are 3 years old and any 5 year olds who have not yet been screened are recommended for this screening. (Must be 3 at the time of screening.)
The purpose of Child Find Screening is to provide the parents and the school with information related to the child's educational development in the areas of:
Basic concepts
Language and speech development
Motor skills
This is conducted by the school district at no cost to the family and will take approximately 45 minutes. This is not a mandatory screening, however, it is highly recommended.
*Please note: This is not preschool registration. That will happen in the Spring of 2025.
Please call the school to make an appointment for the screening at 605-439-3142. If you would like more information about the screening or if you know of a child that may benefit from the Child Find Screening please contact the Leola School at 605-439-3142.
The Leola/Frederick Area sports cooperative has an immediate opening for a Junior High Boys' Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. If you are interested, please submit your application to Brett Flemmer, Athletic Director, at brett.flemmer@k12.sd.us.
NOTICE: The Varsity football game vs. Northwestern, scheduled for 7:00PM on Friday, Oct. 4th, has been canceled. The Jr. High game at 5:00PM will still be played as scheduled.
